Nathan Portelli (b.1988) is a visual artist born and based in Gozo where he practised art for as long as he can remember, eventually graduating in History of Art from the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Malta in 2009.
His love for his motherland and his dismay at man’s attitude towards it is what drives him to produce his work. Portelli uses paper money and cement in his current work to address the contemporary implications on a nation’s own identity brought forth by an economy-driven society.
