CELIA BORG CARDONA
Celia Borg Cardona (b.1957) is an artist who works mostly in two dimensions in oil or acrylic. Her work has in the greater part been concerned with the interaction between groups of people as they go through their everyday lives. Often they are depicted as seen from a high view point. More recently, as a civil activist, she has incorporated social issue themes into her art.
She graduated in pharmacy at the University of Malta and studied art at the Malta School of Art. She worked as a pharmacist for many years until art took over completely and she has been a full time artist for most of the last two decades. She has exhibited extensively in solo and collective shows both in Malta and overseas. Her most recent exhibition was a BOV retrospective of her life’s work at the Museum of Archeology in Valletta in February 2020.
